About Me
I’m Ruth Hatfield, an author from Cambridge, UK. I write fiction and non-fiction for children of all ages.
I’ve written stories for as long as I can remember – I love to wander off into worlds of my own creation. I also love working with other people to help them discover their own creativity and have fun with it!
Besides writing stories, I've worked as an archaeologist, a technician, a polo groom, a waitress and a barlady. I’ve sold teddy bears and double glazing, travelled to the banks of the Oxus river and been struck by an Egyptian Mummy's Curse. These days I live back near my hometown of Cambridge with my scientist husband and an assortment of children and pets.
You can listen to my interview ‘Ruth Hatfield Interview: On The Book of Storms trilogy, travelling, and bringing plants and animals to life’ here and a video interview here.
I’m represented by ace agent Becky Bagnell from the Lindsay Literary Agency.
